The courses are set up incrementally and have timelines attached to each Six Sigma Belt level with specific objectives to be completed. Indiana Considers Six Sigma Reviews of Public Teacher Performance

What is DFSS?

Motorola was facing a big problem in the mid-1980s. The cell phones the company was manufacturing at that time were of poor quality. Even the company's own vice-president of sales admitted this to be the truth. In 1986, Motorola invented a new quality management system called Six Sigma. This system aimed for near perfection by quantitatively calculating the degree to which a customer was not satisfied and tracing it back to product defects. By using statistical analysis and tools, Motorola improved their cell phones so much, the company won a national award in 1988.
