If transforming your company into a lean, efficient, clean running organization was simple, then everyone would do it. Every company would run more effortlessly without waste and continue to save money while producing high quality services. But it isn’t easy, it takes hard work and if it wasn’t hard, then it wouldn’t be referred to as work. The concern is that any company can run leaner and develop into an efficient machine that uses less and creates more, but it will require some effort, a lot of time and a vow to change. It takes the motivation to change, to adjust and to identify what works and what doesn’t work. One of the more hard things about change is actually admitting that there must to be change and if you are ready to try, to work towards something better, then the first step is taken. And whilst the acceptance and identifying the need for change is good and very vital, it doesn’t mean that the job is over. The first thing to understand is that waste comes in lots of forms and there are certain things as necessary waste and that there is no way to get rid of it entirely. You have to recognize the diverse areas that you will want to change and look for the largest opportunities for success. Where is the biggest waste and what varieties of changes can be made? Next you will have to ask the question of whether or not the changes will make a large enough difference. Will the changes implemented be cost effective? In other words, will all the effort that you are going to put toward changing the process or the procedure be worth it in the end? You might make an educated guess or just a guess in order to come to a decision. Or you can go forward and implement the changes and trust it all works out in the end.

The very best way is to draw out a plan and map out the alterations, taking measurements and figuring calculations and estimates of how the changes will affect the process. This way, you will be able to implement an even more educated guess and show what you expect to happen amidst your presentation to whoever will be making the final decision on the implementation of change. That is the only way that the changes will be approved and received. You must encourage those opposed or uncertain of the usefulness of the changes that they are essential in order to develop and compete in the marketplace. You can only do this if you have facts that the changes will be beneficial and that there is a plan in place to get you there. There is a way to build these map and to get the most ideas for your money. You have to involve more than just those that are in charge. Once you have shown that there is a plan and that the changes will work if carried out the way they are planned, it is time to start on the actual changes.
