If transforming your business into a lean, efficient, clean running company was simple, then everyone would do it. Every business would run more efficiently without waste and continue to save cash while making excellent services. But it isn’t a breeze, it takes work and if it wasn’t difficult, then it wouldn’t be known as work. The issue is that any business can run lean and develop into an efficient machine that uses less and makes more, but it will take some effort, a lot of time and a vow to change. It takes the motivation to improve, to adjust and torecognize what works and what does not work. One of the more tricky parts about change is actually admitting that there needs to be change and if you are willing to try, to work towards something better, then the first step is taken. And whilst the noticing and identifying the need for change is good and very vital, it doesn’t mean that the job is over. The first thing to understand is that waste comes in lots of forms and there are such things as obligatory waste and that there is no way to get rid of it entirely. You have to recognize the different areas that you will want to change and search for the major opportunities for success. Where is the largest waste and what sorts of changes can be created? Then you will have to ask the question of whether or not the changes will make a big enough difference. Will the changes completed be economic? In other words, will all the effort that you are going to put toward changing the practice or the procedure be worth it in the end? You might make an educated guess or just a guess in order to make up your mind. Or you can go forward and make the changes and wish it all works out in the end.

The best way is to draw out a plan and plan out the variations, taking measurements and figuring calculations and estimates of how the changes will affect the process. This way, you will be able to make an even more educated guess and deduce what you anticipate will happen amidst your presentation to whomever will be making the final call on the move towards change. That is the only method that the changes will be approved and received. You must persuade those opposed or uncertain of the value of the changes that they are required in order to grow and compete in the marketplace. You can only do this if you have facts that the changes will be beneficial and that there is a plan in place to get you there. There is a way to build these plans and to get the most ideas for your money. You have to include more than just those that are in charge. When you have shown that there is a plan and that the changes will succeed if carried out the way they are drawn up, it is time to get started on the actual changes.
